Educate yourself and VOTE!

I am not a political person by any stretch and I have not been asked to write this from any one candidate, party or affiliate.

If you live in Oklahoma then you are fully aware of the education crisis in our state.  It is getting worse and if we do not step up to make a change NOW then we are doing nothing but punishing our children and our friends and loved ones who are educators and work for the school systems.

I have a daughter that attends the University of Oklahoma and a daughter and two boys that are currently enrolled in the Bixby Public School District.  We are fortunate to live in a community that truly cares about one another and the well being of children and community.

Over the past year I have come to know a mother in my community by the name of Lisa Kramer.  Lisa has a daughter in the same sorority as my daughter and another daughter that attends high school with my youngest daughter. Our paths cross quite frequently. When I came to know Lisa I knew she was a woman that I wanted to be apart of my circle.  I don’t mean social circle but I mean a circle of women who empower each other, support our children and really love our community.  I had no idea she was running for Senate 25. Once I realized her political intentions I took it upon myself to research her goals and intentions.  I do not categorize myself with any political party.  I vote for who and what I believe in no matter what party the candidate is associated with.  You may find that ridiculous but that is how I do it.

Lisa’s campaign is in full swing and I decided my daughter and I needed to get out there and help her, help our children.  My daughter is only 17 years old but she took it up on herself to ask Lisa several questions.  What made her decide to run? What her goals? How are her children doing with the campaign? My daughter took the time to educate herself on Lisa Kramer and to get to know her.  No, my daughter can’t vote yet but I can.  From my daughter’s questions and by getting to know Lisa Kramer I can tell you she is exactly the person we need to make the necessary changes in education.  She is not looking to gain political status but to make the necessary changes needed to ensure our children receive the proper education needed to enrich their lives and the livelihood of our state.

As a mother, a woman, and a citizen of Bixby, Oklahoma I am asking that you please educate yourself before the upcoming election on August 23, 2016.  I encourage you to do your homework!  Lisa Kramer is more than willing to answer any questions you may have concerning her campaign and our state’s education crisis.  Political campaigns can bring out the ugly in people so before you make your decision based on a rumor you may of heard please get your facts straight…you can ask Lisa Kramer herself!
