Kicking Off My Holiday Shopping With Some Savings

In just a couple of weeks the holiday season will be in full swing.  I know several people who get irritated with the early shopping, decorating and planning.  I completely understand where they are coming from but I am opposite.  I have a big family and I have littles.  Planning ahead is the only way I survive the holiday season.

I try not to ever buy anything full price…EVER!  My first rule of thumb is do not ever go to Bed Bath and Beyond without a coupon.  If you don’t have one and you need let me know I literally have a million.

My second Rule of thumb is NEVER EVER pay for shipping.  If I have to pay for shipping it is not worth it! I mean that.  I would rather add 8 more dollars to my cart than pay for shipping.  There is almost always a discount code, a sale or something that offers free shipping.  Like I said if I have pay shipping its not worth it.

There are also several apps that are a must.  If you shop at Target then you better get Cartwheel.  I also use the Walmart Saving Catcher app and Checkout 51.

When shopping online I always sign up with my e-mail to get whatever discount that site offers to new sign ups and to keep up to date with their current sales.

Keep on reading because I am going to give you the inside track on some of my shopping hacks.

CARE CARD

I always start my holiday shopping by purchasing a Care Card.  If you live in Tulsa and you are not familiar with the Care Card then now is the time for you participate in this fantastic event.

The Care Card cost $60 and all proceeds benefit Family and Children’s Services.  Once you purchase the Care Card you will have from October 28th-November 6 to shop and receive 20% off at stores and 10% off at local restaurants through out Tulsa.  A Care Card can be purchased at any participating retailer and so worth every penny.

Every year with mine I make it a point to hit up Sun and Ski.  Uggs, North Face, TOMS and so many other big name brands can be purchased here and who does not want 20% off?  I know my kids are constantly in need of shoes, jackets, gloves, hats and so many other items.  This year we are taking a family ski trip so I plan on getting everyone’s gear ahead of time.

Kendra Scott, Black & Pink Dance Supplies, Bella’s House and so many more are accepting this years Care Card.  Let’s be real…who does not love the idea of Kendra Scott on sale?! For more information and a complete list of retailers you can visit http://www.carecardok.com/

Ebates:

Ok, you have all heard me talk about Ebates.  Have you singed up yet?  If not I would highly recommend that you do so.  Who doesn’t want free money?  Just by opening Ebates and using their search engine to shop you earn money.  If you are like me and do most of your shopping online then this site is for you.  Not only do you get cash back from Ebates but it also offers discount codes and codes for free shipping.  It finds all of the current deals out there to make your shopping so much easier.  You can search by item, brand or retailer.  I am a big Amazon, Lulu’s, and Nordstrom shopper and Ebates offers cash back from each of these.  And yes the cash back is addition to any sales that the retailer is currently offering.  If you have not signed up yet you can sign up here.

Urban Couture:

Urban Couture is one of my favorite South Tulsa shopping plac340dc2_dac9387159044939b2398d077962c9e5es.  It is a cute little boutique located at 106th and Memorial.  It is family owned and operated and has the best customer service.  They have a huge supply of Volcano Candles, the perfect jewelry for teacher gifts or stocking stuffers, and the most fashionable cold weather accessories. And to top it off for every $300 you spend in their store you get $30 in store credit.  I absolutely love this store and you will too!  You can follow them on Facebook and Instagram for all of their sales and new items in stock.

Stocking Stuffers and Teacher Gifts:

I am always on the hunt for the perfect little gifts to tuck inside stockings, to give to teachers, neighborhood friends or sneak in just for myself (shhhh don’t tell my husband.)  Nordstrom Rack has the best little gifts right near the check out.  They have everything from lipstick sets, phone cases, hair care, perfume and so much more.  I also like to purchase gift sest from Ulta and Sephora (they have both men and women.)

One of favorite s1834746-main-lherogifts to give to either male or female is the perfume/cologne sampler from Sephora.  You get several samples and a voucher to redeem for a full size bottle of your favorite.      You can find this set here.

And please do not forget about all your friends who sell brands like Rodan and Fields, Younique Make Up, It Works, Youngliving and so many more.  They have some wonderful gift giving ideas and sets.  I know I would like to be on the receiving end of any of those items!

I hope that you found this post to be helpful.  As we go through the holiday season I will definitely be giving you a heads up to my finds! I would LOVE for you to let me know of the deals you find!  Team work!  And let’s please all remember as we are busy during this time of year and some of us a little stressed, we can all help make this magical season a little bit brighter for others.  Good deeds are always appreciated, a smile is sometimes all a person needs and a little understanding goes a long way.

While most of us are blessed to have the lives that we do others are not so fortunate.  I would like to challenge all of you to keep track of what you save this holiday season and maybe make a donation to the charity of your choice with some or all of it.  A little goes a long way.

Cheers to all of you and may your holiday season be blessed beyond measure!  Happy shopping!
